Jersey Holds This Friend Of Mine

My poem is written, designed to show
A friend of mine who can't ignore
Our visits be them short or long
Seem Always take a turn of wrong.

I leave with blank thought in my head
Yet as I go, your typed chat says
What makes me stop to think and wonder

Your sarcastic words wont keep me under.

Then again as that was said
Another comment strikes me dead
Yet not that I have died from that

But once again you revive my chat.

I smile, laugh, and say in joke
That you've an attitude unprovoked
My patience that of which you test
Is often done with poke or jest.

Is this how you incite a rise?
You'll find you've met your demise

No, I am not as weak in heart
As you may think or can outsmart.

For I have been around a while

So take this time in which to smile
To wait and listen, but not resign...

Jersey holds this friend of mine.

A Chocolate Dove

A chocolate dove once said to me
Just take a chance and you will see
That things may not be bad as seems
So take a chance live out your dreams

Take a chance is what it said
Live your life without regret
Be friend a foe or that of love
Is what professed this chocolate dove

So take next time this thot consider
Let not your conscience quake or quiver
This chocolate dove said without mistake....

To gain reward this chance do take!

The things we regret most in life are the chances we fail to take

Mid Summers Day

BREEZE OF A WARM WIND BLOWS
THE TUNE OF SOFT CHIMES MELODY
CHILDREN AT PLAY SOUNDS ECHO
SUMMER'S AMBIENCE FILLS THE DAY

A YARD SPRINKLER SPLASHES
THE SPRAY OF A COOLING MIST
THAT RIDES THE WIND TO SHARE A SPRITZ
AND COOL THE SUN RAYS BLISTER

FLOWERS STRETCH WITH OPEN ARMS
AS THOUGH TO STAND ATTENTION
REACHING FOR THE WARM BRIGHT SUN
 TALL IN THE SKIES DIRECTION

THE DAY DESCENDS TO EVENINGS DUSK
BIRDS SETTLED AND GIVE WAY
STARS APPEAR AS IF THEY MUST
DRAW CLOSED ONE MID SUMMER'S DAY

Yesterday

I try to think of things to say,
And yet I said them yesterday.
For yesterday I had told you,
In my heart I hold you true.
Now if I said the same again,
My words would be the same as then.
I try to think of something new,
Yet somehow never manage to.
I told you yesterday I miss you,
Today I miss you even more,
But you have heard that all before.
I try to think, yet not a word
But ones I've said and ones you've heard
For yesterday while thoughts of you
I know I told you all was true
Yet all that I can think to say.....

Is what I told you yesterday.

GrandPa's 4th Of July Extravaganza

Well Grandpa showed Grandma this year!  Insisting he wasn't too old for fire works Grandpa set off to the Black Cat fireworks stand and spent dang near his whole social security check on the works!  He got 'em home and was bent on having a pre 4th display.  He made the comment "this damn fireworks show gonna be the best this town's ever seen, in fact this show's gonna be seen for miles",  to Grandma just before she left the house to go visit the kids for the weekend.  Grandpa's fireworks display was everything he said would be and more........

He drew a larger crowd than the Moose Lodge fireworks display!

HOPE YOU HAD A HAPPY AND SAFE 4TH OF JULY!!
