Forest Knights

A forest ascends to the sky
Giants who've stood times test
Earths guardians ever so high
Noble knights which consign to no rest

Hundreds of years in just one
These watchmen of nature do hold
Tales be heard by none
Not that of the young or the old

To stand by one is no measure
Dwarfed aside this mammoth icon
This one of earths ancient treasures
Shall remain in this forest to grow on

I leave with awe in my veins
These Cedars a sight to behold
Are left in the forest to reign
As been done for centuries before.

Nevertooold

"To sit in solitude, to think in solitude with only the music of the stream and the cedar to break the flow of silence, there lies the value of wilderness."

John Muir

That really is a lovely poem. It is so visual and it makes me remember Oregon in all its glory. What a mesmerizing area and you write it so well!

Hi Rebecca,

You've seen Oregon and i'm sure you know. To sit amongst these giants is a site to behold. Thanks so much for the visit and moreso your lovely comments. I don't believe I'll ever leave this region. I've a special place I camp surrounded by said Knights.

All The Best
