Mid Summers Day

BREEZE OF A WARM WIND BLOWS
THE TUNE OF SOFT CHIMES MELODY
CHILDREN AT PLAY SOUNDS ECHO
SUMMER'S AMBIENCE FILLS THE DAY

A YARD SPRINKLER SPLASHES
THE SPRAY OF A COOLING MIST
THAT RIDES THE WIND TO SHARE A SPRITZ
AND COOL THE SUN RAYS BLISTER

FLOWERS STRETCH WITH OPEN ARMS
AS THOUGH TO STAND ATTENTION
REACHING FOR THE WARM BRIGHT SUN
 TALL IN THE SKIES DIRECTION

THE DAY DESCENDS TO EVENINGS DUSK
BIRDS SETTLED AND GIVE WAY
STARS APPEAR AS IF THEY MUST
DRAW CLOSED ONE MID SUMMER'S DAY
