Take For Granted Nothing

Take for granted nothing
Not even your sleep
Hold dear to your heart
That moment to keep

Today may be a last
Chance for you to share
Take for granted nothing
Hold those close you care

Tonight when you ly down
Want nothing or need
Take for granted nothing
But for who's love to feed

New And Old

Make new friends, but keep the old
Those are silver, these are gold
New made friendships, like new wine
Age will mellow and refine

Friendships that have stood the test
Time and change are surely best
Brow may wrinkle, hair grow gray
Friendship never knows decay

For old friends are tried and true
Once more we our youth renewed
But old friends may also die
New friends must their place supply

Cherish friendship in your heart
New is good, but old is best
Make new friends, but keep the old....

Those are silver, these are gold

Thank You

I just popped in to revise a couple things and realized I've now 50 followers, wow.  When I decided to do this blog I had no idea, nor did I imagine I would have made it to 50, that's 50 followers, teehee!!  It's like the kuellest thing for me right now!!

I wanted to thank each and everyone of you individually, but I have not the info on everyone so I thought I'd just make it a warm and fuzzy "blanket" thank you for taking the time to read and or follow this blog.  I also want to give special thanks for all of whom have posted comments of which I've truly enjoyed.  It's like the kuellest thing!

I just hope I can keep your attention by posting more goofy posts, Etsy shops, and things that matter to me, that of which are from the heart.

THANK YOU GUYS

Sew Sew

For any of you seamstress' looking for a new or backup machine I thought I do a quick post about this Kenmore Convertible machine I've had sittin' around for years.  I just posted a comment on a fellow bloggers post about it as they had recently had down time with a machine.  I thought to myself, one needs a back up?  So, I thot I'd post some pics of the machine in hopes that someone out there may be able to use as a backup, trainer, or whatever.  This will probably need to be sold locally as the machine is heavy and shipping wouldn't be advantageous.  So, if you're interested you can convo me thru my etsy shop to discuss price or arrangements for pickup.

The machine comes with it's original manual and a box of attachments, but unfortunately I know nothing what so ever about sewing or machines.  I can however manually thread a needle.

I'll go ahead and post it in my Etsy shop as well for local pickup only.

Little Boy That Was

Little boy that was
Now looks into the mirror
Little boy once graced
No longer filled with youth
But now an old mans face

Little boy that was
Years stole without a trace
Now of which have gone
Whisked at a blinding pace

Little boy that was
Is now a full grown man
Little boy that was
no longer plays pretend

Little boy that was
Is still inside this man
Little boy that was
Holds onto his hand

Although the years have gone
This man appears as old
Little boy that was

Lives deep within his soul

She Who Laughs First......

Here are a couple pics that I want to share with you which are of my granddaughter and how her unwillingness to comply with my requests often result in her not being very happy and me getting a heck of a kick out of......

Here we were vacationing on the Oregon coast and she insisted on foolin' around in the surf.  Typically would not be a issue, however just moments ago I had taken her back to camp for a change of clothes and get all the sand washed off her.  I insisted she not play too close to the surf.  She however, had other plans.  She would run after the retreating water, taunt me in the process, then bee-feat it back up to the dry sand several times growing more confident with each pass.  Well, one thing about the Oregon coast is that you NEVER turn your back against it.  With that said......

Here she's tiptoeing taunting me and the cam......

Not so fun now is it?

I WANT YOU TO KNOW

I want you to know when things go wrong
I want you to know that all along
Someone remembers, someone cares
Whatever the load, the burden is shared
Whatever you do or whatever you say
I want you to know that along the way
Someone believes, believes although
Others may doubt...

I want you to know.

I want you to know when afar
When I cannot speak to you heart to heart
Whatever the rest may say or do
I want you to know my faith is true
I want you to know that come what will
In the deepest of valley or highest of hill
That the things I say to you now are so
So forever...

I want you to know.

I want you to know in the after years
In time of worry or that of tears
Although the plains or sea divides
I still am standing your soul beside
The way is far and the voice is numb
I may not speak and I may not come
Perhaps my love will not help you so
But if it will...

I want you to know.

Little Debbie

News Flash.....

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but just wanted you to be aware of this individual who's been stalking neighborhoods throughout Oregon.  There's nothing to fear as this "Prowler" only swipes "Little Debbie" snack cakes.  Be sure to keep yours under lock and key as the next time you get up late at night to delve into one of those delicious cream filled delights like I did, they may be GONE!!

Destination

25 years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the whole world's made up of this brotherhood of man
for WHATEVER that means

And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out, what's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take A deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs,
What's goin' on

And I try, oh my God, do I try
I try all the time in this institution
And I pray, oh my God, do I pray
I pray every single day FOR A RESOLUTION!

And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out, what's in my head
And I, I'm feeling, a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs,
WHAT'S GOIN' ON!!

25 years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a..........

A BIT OF BAM

Jewelry, like shoes, are accessories that some can't live without.  I haven't convinced myself that I would look good wearing a pair of hoops, a lovely brooch, or even a necklace for that matter, so I won't try to convince you of it either, hehe.  Here is a friend and Etsy shop owner who's exquisite pieces of jewelry make me feel like I could wear 'em!!  I'd like to introduce you to Bambi.  Bambi owns 3beads Jewelry shop and from the moment I laid eyes on her quality hand made creative works I fell in love with them all.  Elegant, stylish, affordable!!  Bambi's been crafting for over 20 years and about 7 on the jewelry side.  She's a talent with but not limited to, cards, in a variety of styles, magnetic invites, magnetic baby announcements, boxed cards, gift card holders, 5 x 7 greeting cards, a bunch of fun stuff!!  Although she's modest in saying that she likes the simple stuff, her pieces of jewelry are much more than simple.

Here's a sampling of what she has to offer......

Here is a Lovely Black Pearl Labradorite, Pearls,

and Sterling silver necklace.

Along with the necklace are 2 sets of earrings to compliment the piece.

A truly lovely and bold ensemble

Carnelian necklace with gold spacers, beautiful carnelian leaf

Graduated Carnelian Necklace and agate. Made on 19 strand wire and 24 inches in length.

Fabulously Gorgeous!!

Imagine the addition of this piece to your accessories collection!

A Sugilite, Seedbeads, Sterling Silver Tea Pot Bracelet

Pictures do this piece no justice and must be seen in person to appreciate the fine quality and workwomanship put into creating this wonderful bracelet.

I urge you to stop by 3Beads for a peek inside as I'm confident you'll be amazed with her beautiful creative works.

I See

I see
a smile grows on my face
Just to remember

What I would've gave
  Had I the chance

But now I see
In a different light
It meant the world to me
In a different way

It means a lot to me
Much than anything I own
I see why some prayers are never answered
As some things are better left alone.

PEACE

Feeling so lost
I want to bury the memory
Leave no trace that it ever existed

Maybe then I could sleep at night
Maybe then I will be free
From the tears draining my heart

Don’t want to drag this pain with me
Everywhere I go
I want to be normal again

Everywhere I look is a reminder
Why can’t I let it go
I can’t smile in reminisce

The feeling so deep
The emptiness so cold
I feel like I have gone…

Into another world

A world where happiness
Is an obstacle
Laughter a challenge
Complete is almost impossible

If only I could …
Perhaps then, will I feel peace again

MATERIAL GIRL......

You've got to see her fabric collection, HA!

This post is about my wonderful sister in law and her works of art that most of us call QUILTS.  She has adamantly been working on a group of quilts for her family since before Christmas '09.  This past weekend we were blessed to have received ours.  I know nothing about quilting so I won't go into specifics, but can tell you that of the quilts I've seen, these are true treasures.  Here I'd like to share with you a few of her marvelous creations.......

I hope she don't get mad at me, but I'm gonna call this one "CrossRoads" as I don't believe she's actually named her works, hmmmm, maybe a good idea?  Awesome earth tones in this subtle and lovely accented throw.

Here we have pinks and violets with blocks of cream that I'll call "Pretty In Pink".  Oh I know she's gonna kill me when she see's this, lol.

I love this throw, dark and light blues perfect for a boys room or nursery or just to relax under on a cool night.  I love the symmetry and the wide deep border, one of my faves!!

This one I'll call "A Star Is Born" only cuz i'm a guy and don't know $#*% about quilting or the names thereof.  Black, violets, beige, creams, an absolutely gorgeous quilt that pictures do no justice for.

Do comment me some feedback on these pieces as I've been trying to convince her that she should sell her creative works and become a rich woman!!

Lastly, for you T, Thank you so very much for all you've done as I know thanks are just not enough but all I have to offer until I find that one gift to give you in return.  Your diligence, hard work, and all that you put into these wonderful quilts is appreciated more than words can say.

You've a talent of which is unsurpassed (I'm bias of course) as I've seen with my own eyes, touched with my hands, your works of art!
